What we do

Build it

Domain registration, website design and development, and bespoke graphic design. Custom themes, layouts and content, not a template with your logo dropped in.

Run it

Fully managed green VPS hosting on Canadian infrastructure, plus front-end content updates and back-end maintenance. You never think about updates again.

Protect and grow it

Security patching, cybersecurity audits and consultations, SEO, AEO to keep you showing up in searches. The unglamorous work that keeps a site in good standing.

"Shylo and LoveFire Web have been supporting Ocean Legacy since our earliest days in 2013. She built and has managed our entire digital presence from day one: our website, email systems, digital presence, social media and brand identity, hotspot maps, and the evolution of our logo.

More than a decade later, she is still the person shaping the digital innovation and public face of Ocean Legacy, Legacy Plastic, Ocean Plastic Depot and EPIC Academy. Her work gave a fledgling nonprofit the credibility and reach it needed to grow, and her continued pro bono service as CTO, serving on our board of directors speaks to how deeply she is invested in this important life's mission."

Who you're actually hiring

I’m Shylo Love, and I run LoveFire Web.

Most web work gets split across three companies: a designer who hands off to a developer, who hands off to a hosting company. When something breaks, you’re the one making three phone calls and getting three different answers.

I do all of it. I design the site, build it, and administer the servers it runs on. DNS, email deliverability, SSL, SEO, analytics, security patching, the parts that usually mean “you’ll have to contact your host”, those are mine too. There’s no hand-off and no one to blame.

I take on a small number of clients deliberately. If we work together, you’re not a ticket number, and I make sure you’re taken care of.

How we work

New site build

Design, build, launch, and migration. Fixed quote after a discovery call.

Managed care

Hosting, security patching, backups, monitoring, and content updates. Monthly, cancel anytime.

Audit or consult

Security audit, performance review, or a one-off consultation on something specific.

Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers about website design, managed hosting, and maintenance for small businesses in Alberta and Western Canada.

A professionally built small business website in Alberta typically costs between $1500 and $10,000, depending on the number of pages, features, and custom design work required. LoveFire Web provides an estimate up front, so there are no surprise charges. Ongoing maintenance and managed hosting plans start at $100/month.

Green-powered Canadian hosting, security patching, website updates, automated and tested backups, uptime monitoring, and a person who notices before you do. Content updates are not included on the care plans unless otherwise stated.

Entirely. The domain stays in your name, you get full access, and if you ever leave I’ll help with the handover. No hostage situations.

Yes, on green-powered servers physically located in Canada. That keeps your data under Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA), loads faster for Canadian visitors, and keeps everything under Canadian jurisdiction instead of a data centre somewhere in Virginia.

You get the person who actually builds and maintains your site, not a ticket queue or a template you fight with at midnight. LoveFire Web is owner-led and has served small businesses across Alberta and Western Canada for 14 years, with design, development, hosting, and security under one roof.

That’s most of my work. I take over existing sites regularly, including ones where the original developer has vanished.

Both. Some clients want a single audit or repair; others want everything handled. Either is fine.

Typically 2 – 6 weeks from discovery to launch, depending on how much content and how quickly content comes together. Content is almost always the bottleneck, not the build.

Yes! As part of the initial build, I do basic SEO and set up your analytics accounts with Google Analytics, Search Console and Tag manager. Deeper SEO, AEO, GEO, new content/image SEO, analytics, ads, and ongoing tasks are available in addition to the basic build.

A cybersecurity audit reviews your website, hosting, and email for vulnerabilities before someone else finds them. Small businesses are frequent targets precisely because nobody is watching. One-off audits and ongoing monitoring are both available.

WordPress, primarily. It powers over 40% of the web and means you own your site and content outright, with no platform holding it hostage. We also build in Shopify, Wix and other popular web builders. We handle the technical side: development, managed hosting, email deliverability, security hardening, backups, and updates.

Occasionally, but the practice is built around Western Canada so we can meet clients and understand the market. Get in touch and we’ll see if it’s a fit.
